Umag is a beautiful little harbour town on the Istrian peninsula in north-west Croatia. It is deservedly the most popular tourist resort in Istria. Umag is also a vibrant town, and hosts the tennis ATP tournament. Even in old times the value of Umag was recognised, and the Romans established their summer residences here. This is reflected today in the many Venetian houses in the old part of the town. Umag's climate is mild, with 2400 hours of sunshine per year and a summer sea temperature of 27°. In addition to the beaches, there are water-sports, tennis, golf, horse-riding, hunting, fishing, nature walks and a marina.
Umag is 90 km from Trieste (international airport, with daily low-cost flights from many European countries), 81 km from Pula with its airport, 46 km from Ljubljana airport, a two hour ferry crossing from Venice and a two hour flight from London. It is Croatia's gateway to Europe, and Europe's gateway to Croatia. With all Istria within easy reach, Umag is an ideal location for a wonderful holiday and for a profitable tourism-based real-estate investment.
